How do I link an icon to 'My Computer'??
on Oct 03, 2003
To Link to My Computer

1./Create a new Shortcut
2./Name the Shortcut
3./Where it says Link: put

explorer.exe

4./Where it says Arguments: put

::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

If you wish to browse your computer from ObjectDock do the Following

Create a new shortcut

Title: My Computer (can be whatever)
Link: leave blank
Arguments: leave blank
Set the Image you wish to use
Click OK

Now to browse your computer with that Shortcut click it like normal but hold your mouse button down for a second or two and a my computer menu with popout menus just like the startmenu etc should appear.

If you just click it like normal and let the mouse button go the My Computer window should open up.

Now that all works on mine so i assume it should work on any bodys.

Can you set the size of a window opened by ObjectDock? I'd like the Internet shortcuts I have on mine to open in a maximized window. Is there a way to change this?

Mine doesn't work. It thinks I want to move the icon.

nevermind. Had to play around with it a bit... I changed the link to C:\ and tried it, and it worked. Then I deleted the link. Presto! "My Computer!"

Koasati-

I tried using the Start Menu tip you posted, but I get a Windows Script Host error:

Line: 1
Char: 33
Error: Syntax Error
Code 800A03EA
Source: MS VBScript compilation error

I copied, pasted, saved as start.vbs, and linked. Does this work on XP?
